Mobile & Web App Design

The aim of this project is the creation of an online platform that functions as a marketplace and as a social media platform for artists, gallerists and customers of Art Aurea. In this project I lead the design strategy & created the design artefacts.

Project Phases

01: Defining the design scope

Discussions with stakeholders helped to understand the project's purposes and translate their vision into the plan: The product includes 3 sides of the platform for 3 roles: Buyers, Artists, and Galleries.

04: Design system creation

Created comprehensive documentation covering components, patterns, and best practices to support designers and developers in seamless implementation.

02: Facilitating design workshops

Vision Canvas workshop to understand the value of the product, the users and which problems it solves. Competitor analysis to analyze similar features on the market and makes us unique.

05: Designing web & mobile platforms

Creating adaptive design screens, finalising use cases for all the features separately, adding all the interface states, and preparing clickable prototypes for testing.

03: Product architecture & wireframes

Creation of navigation structures for various platforms using card sorting with various stakeholders. Creation of wireframes for each feature and making sure it matches to the product vision and user needs.

06: Testing & Iterations

Qualitative user testings were conducted to observe user interactions with the mobile & web platforms. Valuable insights regarding UX and UI were gathered. Iterations and final design changes were made based on the user feedback.

Design Process

The User-Centered Design (UCD) process used focuses on creating products that meet user needs. Starting with user research to understand behaviors and pain points, informing the design. Prototypes are created and tested with users to gather feedback. The design is refined based on this feedback, with iterative testing and improvement. This ensures the final product is intuitive, efficient, and satisfying for users.

Low Fidelity & Testing

The focus shifts from "What are the possible solutions?" to "How precisely will this solution work and look?" It sets the groundwork for the detailed design and prototyping that will occur during Design Refinement. We conduct usability testing sessions with Lo-fidelity prototypes to gather initial user feedback. This helps identify potential usability issues, understand user behaviour, and validate design assumptions

High Fidelity & Testing

During the Design Refinement phase, the primary objective is to finalise the design, ensuring that it's refined, user-friendly, and ready for development. It’s the culmination of the design process, where every pixel and interaction is meticulously crafted and vetted before it’s handed off to the development team.

Design System

Developed and maintained a robust design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across products. Created comprehensive documentation covering components, patterns, and best practices to support designers and developers in seamless implementation. Standardized UI elements, improved accessibility, and streamlined workflows, enabling a more cohesive user experience

200 + Figma components & variants

Increased development time by 40% with Figma libraries, components, design systems that allow adapting pages faster. 30% increase in search & reach rate due to new architecture and UX driven design.
